"Say It To Sayers"

What Greg Stands For

Greg Sayers is an Auckland Councillor and an experienced businessman. He is an independent candidate who has been re-elected as the Rodney Councillor on the Auckland Council.

He convincingly unseated the sitting incumbent the year he stood for election by an unprecedented margin of the votes. Furthermore, due to the respect he had built up as a community team-player, along with his proven record of achieving results for Rodney, he was unopposed in his re-election in 2019 and won what was described as a “landslide” in the 2022 elections against a high profile candidate. He was re-elected unopposed gain in 2025.

Sayers is very strongly cemented in as a proactive and hardworking Councillor for Rodney.

Greg believes a central city focus, and the failure to deal with important local issues, are key issues he is expected to fight for and correct.

He is working from a platform of stopping Council’s wastage and overspending, getting Council back to core business and having local rates spent locally.

With a proven background of private sector financial and governance experience, now combined with political experience, he has the balance of skills people are wanting to see in their Councillor.

He holds academic business qualifications, as well as a Bachelor in science (Chemistry).

Greg is approachable, a good listener and he cares.
